Jenn T.
Hi, my name is Jenn and I've been performing with the Neighbourhood Strays since April 2006. You may not see me that often, though, since I'm often traveling for school. (I'm a PhD candidate at Memorial University.) Despite my infrequent appearances, I love being part of the troupe; dancing with these ladies is something I look forward to every week.
I first started bellydance in September 2005 with my roommate. (If you've read the other bios, you can probably guess who she is.) I was hesitant to take the class because I am *not* a graceful person but it ended up being one of the most fun learning experiences I've ever had! The troupe really made an effort to make the class comfortable and friendly and I came out of it desperate to learn more. Before I knew it, I was in the troupe and performing and it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. While performing still makes me a little nervous, bellydance has helped me develop more self-confidence and a healthier body image, two qualities women today need. Not to mention that the other troupe members have become good friends and it's a fun form of exercise! Taking bellydance with Andrea has not only helped me feel good, both physically and mentally, it has also reminded me that it's important to try new things and be open to different experiences.
