Lynn
I am in the running for the title of the most-difficult-to-locate-troupe member. I truly enjoy practicing and performing with the Neighbourhood
Strays, but regularly find myself away from St. John's. If I'm in town and an opportunity arises, you will be sure to spot me with my lovely Stray cohorts.
Born and raised in Northern Ontario, I moved to St. John's to pursue graduate studies in Folklore. In September 2005 my roommate and I
decided to sign up for Beginners classes as a fun activity that would guarantee that we'd actually see each other at least once a week. By the time we had finished Intermediates in March 2006 we were both hooked and wanted to continue to learn about all aspects of bellydance. More than a bit nervous about the public performance component, we joined the troupe anyway and I couldn't be happier about that decision. Belly dance provides an opportunity for people at all levels of physical
fitness and capability to participate. Attending a class or practicing in your own home is a motivating and uplifting experience that builds confidence and respect for your own body.
